Description: Orpheus Looked Back (Iteration # 1) was created with an algorithm composed in the R Statistics Language. The algorithm used a sine function to determine the number of tiles in each column, producing interesting circular and wave patterns in negative space. Colors for each tiles were selected based on their location, with partially opaque black triangles that create shadows. The title refers to a Greek myth, in which Orpheus broke a rule (not looking back) while rescuing his wife from the underworld, thereby losing her forever.

This art print is a limited three-edition print, which includes different sizes. There are three iteration outputs from this algorithm, this is the first iteration.

The artwork is is sold unframed and shipped to the customer with a certificate of authenticity. Prints are not hand-signed in the margin, which facilitates faster production and shipping. More information about prints is located here.
